Temperament - Zimri has been assessed at the Public shelter as being appropriate for rehoming in the UK. .
Their rescue story - Unfortunately, not a lot is known about the public shelter dogs’ history. Zimri was caught by the local dog catcher and was brought to the Public shelter for their owner to claim him. Sadly, no owner came forward, so he was ‘put up’ for adoption.
Zimri is travelling from a rescue in Romania via Evermore Dog Rescue.
Many of the dogs at the shelter have been found living on the streets but all the dogs chosen to come to the UK have been picked as they are friendly towards humans. They may have been owned before and lived in a home but we don't necessarily know what they are like with children or small animals. They may not be fully house trained and will need some time to settle into their new surroundings. They shouldn't be expected, as with any new dog, to be comfortable with being walked for a couple of days.
We recommend an escape proof harness, as some of the dogs may have been caught by dog catchers so can be sensitive with anything around their neck when being walked.
